Kowhai Seed Ceramics

“The Kowhai Seed Collection features the seed of the Kowhai, New Zealand’s unofficial national flower. The name comes from the Maori word for yellow due to its golden colour. If you want to attract tuis or bellbirds to your garden then plant a kowhai tree. I have always been drawn to the sculptural graphic lines of the seed pod. The final design includes the seed pod pattern embossed into the clay. I have kept the outside a matte off white glaze and added a pop of brightly coloured glaze inside. The blue and yellow glazes represent the land and sea while the yellow, red and orange represents the change in season.” Each bowl comes packaged in a sturdy custom made kraft gift box.
